# SEALSQ Launches Orbital Security Initiative
SEALSQ and WISeKey are building the Quantum Spatial Orbital Cloud (QSOC), an ambitious space-based platform designed to deliver quantum-resistant cybersecurity from orbit. The first dedicated satellite launches in Q4 2026 via SpaceX, with plans to expand into a 100-satellite constellation by 2033.
QSOC transforms satellites into computing nodes capable of protecting against quantum computing threats—powerful machines that could crack today’s encryption. The platform combines post-quantum cryptography (math-based encryption resistant to quantum attacks), quantum random number generation for secure key creation, digital identity verification, and AI processing.
Built on proven technology tested across 21 previous SpaceX missions since 2023, QSOC extends cybersecurity infrastructure beyond Earth-based data centers. The partnership leverages SEALSQ’s semiconductor and cryptographic expertise alongside WISeKey’s satellite operations and manufacturing capabilities. At full deployment, the constellation aims to provide global, enterprise-grade security coverage for governments and critical infrastructure operators.
