# NSA Launches QuantumEAGLe to Strengthen U.S. Quantum Computing
The National Security Agency’s Laboratory for Physical Sciences and the Army’s DEVCOM Research Office have unveiled QuantumEAGLe, a new initiative designed to boost America’s quantum computing capabilities and industrial competitiveness. The program tackles five strategic priorities: deepening partnerships with private quantum companies, developing commercial roadmaps, building a domestic supply chain for specialized quantum components, creating algorithms that deliver genuine quantum advantages, and supporting fundamental research into qubit performance and system design.
By pairing flexible contracting with direct industry collaboration, QuantumEAGLe aims to bridge the gap between government-funded research and commercial applications. Officials emphasized the initiative will accelerate progress toward fault-tolerant quantum computing—systems that can correct errors without losing computational power—while strengthening national security and economic resilience.
