# Infineon Secures Robots Against Future Quantum Threats

Infineon has integrated its OPTIGA security chip with NVIDIA’s Jetson Thor platform to protect robots and autonomous systems from emerging cryptographic threats. The Trusted Platform Module (TPM)—a dedicated security processor separate from the main chip—stores encryption keys, verifies software authenticity, and enables secure updates throughout a robot’s operational life.

As robots move from factories into public spaces, security breaches carry real consequences: operational disruption and regulatory penalties. Infineon’s solution addresses this by embedding post-quantum cryptography (encryption designed to resist quantum computers) into its roadmap, including NIST-standardized algorithms like ML-KEM and ML-DSA. This forward-looking approach ensures robot fleets remain protected against both current and future cryptographic threats, even as regulations increasingly mandate quantum-resistant security.

The partnership reflects growing compliance demands from the EU Cyber Resilience Act and industrial standards, positioning hardware-level security as foundational to Physical AI deployment.
