# D-Wave Unveils Error-Aware Quantum Simulator for Developers
D-Wave is rolling out a new gate-model quantum computing simulator designed to help developers build applications that work around quantum errors. The tool leverages D-Wave’s dual-rail technology—an architecture that detects errors and enables real-time adjustments—giving programmers visibility into how quantum systems actually behave rather than idealized models. The simulator supports up to 21 qubits and integrates with D-Wave’s existing Ocean development toolkit, allowing researchers to prototype applications and test error-correction strategies before deploying to actual quantum hardware. Starting September 2026, the simulator will be available through D-Wave’s Leap cloud platform as part of new tiered subscription bundles offering monthly access allocations and expert guidance. This release advances D-Wave’s roadmap toward fault-tolerant quantum computing systems.
